A 52-year-old widow who triumphed over adversity was among 64 graduates pinned yesterday by St. Paul's School of Nursing at the Hilton Garden Inn in Bloomfield.
"It is bittersweet that we finally graduate," said Linda Howard of West Brighton. "Everyone in the program has been nothing but supportive to my family and me; I thank them for such a great experience."
Mrs. Howard's husband, Kenny, died in September 2010, when his parked SUV rolled out of control and wedged him against a nearby vehicle.
